Refractive surgery

Before surgery

What is refractive surgery?

Refractive surgery is a laser procedure designed to correct visual defects (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia). It reduces or eliminates the need to wear glasses or contact lenses.

  • Have at least 18 years old and stable visual correction since 1 year.
  • No serious eye pathologies (e.g. keratoconus, infections).
  • Spend a complete pre-operative assessment (corneal thickness, visual stability, etc.).

Please note : The surgeon will decide whether you are a good candidate after this assessment.

  • LASIK Very popular, fast, quick recovery.
  • PRK or TRANSPKR Technique for thin corneas, longer recovery.
  • SMILE Minimally invasive laser, no need to cut the entire cornea.
  • Lens replacement To correct presbyopia or strong visual defects.
  • Stop wearing your lenses (at least a few days in advance for flexible products, 1 month for rigid products).
  • Avoid using make-up or products around the eyes the day before and the day of the operation.
  • Inform the surgeon of any medical treatment or health problems.
